AA720 Door

The Kawneer AA720 Door has been developed to meet the latest European requirements for thermal performance.

To enable complete flexibility of design, performance and cost, the AA720 Door is available in two levels of thermal performance – the AA720 and the AA720HI.

The 72mm profiles incorporate the very latest thermal technology including; extruded polyamide thermal breaks, insulated centre seals and foam isolators.

As well as being fully integrated, the AA720 Door can suite with Kawneer’s curtain walling and framing products and is suitable for installation in low or high rise buildings for commercial and domestic new build or refurbishment projects.

Construction

Crimped or pinned with mechanical corner cleats.  Corner braces are also used.
Weathering is achieved by the use of single and dual durometer, EPDM gaskets.
Pressure equalised system.

As well as flexibility in performance, the AA720 offers versatility in design with the range encompassing a wide variety of integrated window and door configurations.

The AA720 Casement Windows are available as top hung or side hung windows and can be either internally or externally glazed. Additional advantages of the advanced thermal break technology include the options of dual colour finishes, to provide design flexibility in various applications.

Vent Size Limitations

A stick-frame assembly with weather performance achieved by drainage and ventilation of the glazing rebates. Drainage and ventilation occurs at every mullion and transom connection in a zone drained system and at the base and above mullion joints in a mullion drained system.

The system is available in a variety of mullion depths which combined with several thermal break options, including an enhanced thermal performance option, and aesthetic external capping allows a specifier the flexibility of design to make their own statement. The system has outstanding performance and its ease of installation makes it possible to suit individual project requirements.

The AA100 is suitable for vertical and sloped applications including faceted walls.

To provide complete design flexibility the AA100 is also available as a Horizontally Capped system, a Vertically Capped system, a Structurally Silicone Glazed system and a Fire Resistant system.

AA100 HC/VC (Horizontal/Vertical Cap)

The Horizontal/Vertical Cap provides the specifier the opportunity to highlight the horizontal or vertical features across the building envelope and gives the building its individual signature. The variety of distinctive face caps gives total flexibility in design. The system has been exclusively designed, developed and supplied by Kawneer, with installation contracts carried out by approved Dealers.

LouvreShield is designed to suite with Kawneer’s AA720 and AA543 Open-In Windows. It offers a simple and aesthetic solution for providing both ventilation and fall protection and is ideally suited for domestic, residential (including student accommodation), retail and commercial applications.

It is surface mounted onto the outer frame of the window and allows free air movement into the room when the windows are operated in either the tilt or turn modes. Additionally, the louvre can function as a safety barrier when the windows are operated in the turn mode and if conditions dictate that fall protection is required.

Two blade options are available to suit specific building requirements and increase the aesthetics of the facade.

LouvreShield is a totally self-contained solution that completely eliminates the need for additional sub-contractor work and does not interface with any other element of the building structure.

LouvreShield has been fully tested in accordance with BS 6180 (Barrier Loading) to 1.5 kN/m Line Load and with BS EN 13049 (Impact Resistance) achieving Class 5.

The 451PT Framing system provides slimline, dual colour and multi-glazed framing modules of varying widths and heights that feature fixed lights, opening vents and insulated panels and is fully compliant with Document L and Scottish Building Standards Part 6.

The GT70S uses a multi-chamber thermal break core ensuring thermal efficiency and full compliance with Approved Document L and Scottish Building Standards Part 6. Available as a tilt before turn or turn only window and uses polyamide thermal break offering single or dual colour options.

The AA720 Parallel Opening Window is available as a stand alone window system and as an insert into existing Kawneer curtain walling and framing systems allowing complete design freedom.

Based on the established Kawneer AA720 window system, the parallel opening design benefits from the proven thermal performance of the standard AA720 casement, achieving U-values of 1.2 W/m²K for a CEN sized window, triple glazed with warm edge spacer, while offering exceptional levels of natural ventilation and air exchange.

Increased air flow around the full perimeter of the window facilitates highly efficient natural ventilation while greatly reducing draughts. Fresh air is drawn in via the bottom of the window while warm, stale air is expelled via the top of the window creating full circulation of air within the room.

This efficient exchange of air can assist with Approved Document F compliance and can enable the AA720 Parallel Opening Window to meet the ventilation requirements of even the most demanding project.

Kawneer’s complete range of Fire Resistant solutions enables design flexibility when fire protection is a requirement to building design.

Kawneer’s product solutions enable safe evacuation of building occupants by offering fire and smoke protection in escape routes. They can also be used to prevent the spread of fire through the building and to adjacent buildings.
